Sujit Chakrabarty has done B.Sc. Agriculture from Banaras Hindu University in 1986. In continuation of his academic career, he did M.Sc. Ag (Horticulture) from Allahabad Agricultural Institute (now Sam Higginbotham University of Agriculture, Technology & Science) in 1988 then completed PGDBM from Birla Institute Management Technology in 1989.
Seed production & marketing have been his domain industry. He has been associated with leading seed brands in India like Indo American Hybrid Seeds, Namdhari Seeds etc. for more than 18 years. His experience of crop production, especially of horticultural crops in various Agro-climatic regions across India is widely acknowledged by both farmers & gardeners alike.
He noticed the damage & negative repercussions on soil & local ecosystem due to conventional – synthetic chemical-based agriculture, in the beginning of 21st century. Since 2012, he is fulltime devoted to promotion of Organic, Vedic & Biodynamic Agriculture in India. In 2019, he promoted Prakrit Krishi Tantra LLP, to provide “Training & Guidance” in Organic, Vedic & Biodynamic Farming to farmers & home gardeners.
Sujit Chakrabarty has authored two books on Organic Agriculture, which are titled as “Organic Home Gardening Made Easy” & “Arts & Science of Organic Farming”, published by Notion Press, available online on Amazon & Flipkart.
He has a YouTube channel, @PraKriTLLP and WhatsApp channel, PraKriT KriShi, through which, videos on basic & fundamental principles & concepts about deep relationship between ‘Mother Nature & Agriculture’ are provided to the organic farming fraternity. Also, he has been contributing articles in on various topics related to Organic, Vedic & Biodynamic Farming, Hindi & English languages in different journals on Organic Agriculture.
Sujit Chakrabarty is an active member of various associations & groups in organic agriculture in both domestic & international arena viz. Organic Agri. Society of India, Krishi Navchar, Patanjali Yogahar Karyakram, International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement etc.
