Training in V-f-L

‘Vocal for Local’ (VfL) is one step forward to move two steps backward towards reconnecting with our traditional & native farming practices in compliance with seasonal & regional traditions, values & festivals.

Organic farming

Organic farming thrives on the principle of “Prevention is better than Cure”

Following two basic postulates are adopted to achieve the above goal: –

  1. Evading of synthetic farm inputs by avoiding usage of factory produced synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, PGRs etc.
  2. Re-cycling of Organic wastes by converting all kinds of organic farm wastes viz. crop residues, weeds, animal dung etc. naturally cooked as ‘compost’ for using as manure to maintain rather improve physical, chemical & biological properties of the farm soil.

Biodynamic farming

Biodynamic farming consists of four basic components in farming: –

  1. Soil: – it is the local, natural growing medium with in the farm premises for crop cultivation
  2. Crop: – it is the set of various crops grown in companionship during different seasons with in the farm premises
  3. Ecosystem: – it is the flora & fauna with-in the farm premises & in the vicinity
  4. Spirit: – it is the spiritual & emotional connect between all kinds of living organisms viz. farm owner, farm workers, plants viz. cultivated crops as well as uncultivated herbs, trees, shrubs, weeds etc.,, animals viz. Cattles, Dogs, Cats, Poultry, Sheep, Goat, Pig etc., (domesticated) as well as wild viz. birds, insects, reptiles etc.

Vedic farming

Vedic farming consists of two basic components in farming: –

  1. Crop husbandry… which involved soil, manure, seeds, crop protection, irrigation, farm implements, climatology (meteorology) etc.
  2. Animal husbandry… which involved rearing of cattle, poultry, draft animals, grazing & forest tracts, water ponds (aquaculture) etc.

Organic Seed Production

Seed is the first input in farming… organic farming is incomplete without use of the organic seed.

Organic seed production is application of scientific concepts & natural practices in a combo-package.

Biodynamic Seed Production

Seed is the link between two generation of the same plant species…

its vigor, germinability & sustainability against natural stress conditions increases manifold thru biodynamic method of seed production.

Vedic Seed Production

Every seed has inherent adaptability to specific agro-climate ecosystem…

Its adaptability can be stretched at both ends for biotic & abiotic stress conditions by adopting Vedic principles of seed production.

Compliance For Organic Certification

Organic produce can be tagged as “Organic” only after Organic Certification. An organic certified product fetches higher price in the market. APEDA accredited private agencies do the auditing for compliance NOP and/or NPOP norms & facilitate the certification process as ‘third-party certification’ for ‘on & off’ farm organic ventures. PGS certification is ‘peer group’ certification process, which is facilitated by NCONF under Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of Bharat, appointed nodal offices at regional, state & district level department of agriculture offices.
